Early Registration Contest Winners

Registering early has its rewards. Six lucky Northwest Community College students have won $500 toward their education expenses. Their names were drawn from all the students who entered the College's 'Register Early and Win' contest simply by registering no later than June 30, 2006.

The contest winners are:

Inez Angus - Hazelton - Career and College Prep program
James Muskett - Houston - Trades/Welding program
Susan Knight - Kitimat - Career and College Prep program
Royden Mutch - Prince Rupert - Business Administration program
Breeann Semeschuk - Smithers - University Credit program
Jeannette MacDonald - Terrace - Home Support/Resident Care Attendant program

"I was surprised and pleased to win", says Kitimat winner Susan Knight. "It's great that the College had this promotion, the $500 is a real financial help to us. Education is a very important part of my life and I'm looking forward to getting back to class."

"The contest was a great success," explains NWCC Registrar, Cathay Sousa. "It encouraged more students to register early. Because we accept students on a first-applied, first-accepted basis, early registration is necessary to guarantee a seat in the program of their choice."

The contest was open to all students who registered in a full-time, credit-based program, including Trades. Six winners were chosen, one from each campus. The winners now have a $500 credit that can be applied towards the costs of tuition, books, dorm fees, cafeteria meal tickets, and bookstore items at Northwest Community College.
