First Nations Council Election

Call for Student Nominations

One student seat is available on the First Nations Council.  The term of office is September 2017 - September 2018.  

Student members receive $750 every term served on the Council. The first meeting if there is no campaign or election will be held on September 29, 2017; if there is an election the first meeting will be held on December 8, 2017.

September 19, 2017 Close of Nominations
September 20-27, 2017 Campaign
October 2, 2017 Election

Nominations close at 4:00 pm.  The election will run from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.

Eligibility to Participate:

Only those enrolled as a student (in good standing) currently attending the College are eligible to participate.  If you are uncertain of your enrolment status, please check with your Registration Office.  Candidates must be nominated by five other recognized members of the student body enrolled as students attending NWCC from the same campus.  Each nominee must declare that s/he has every reason to believe that s/he will be able to fulfill the term of office.

Nomination forms are also available through the Student Union office or from the following staff in the Administration and Registration offices at the campus:

Completed Nomination Forms are to be returned to the Registrar’s office by 4:00 pm on September 19, 2017. Qualified nominees will be notified by the Registrar following the close of nominations and prior to the campaign period.  If at the close of the nomination period there is only one candidate per seat available, the nominated candidate will be declared elected.
