Traffic Control Flagging

This course is required for those monitoring, controlling and directing traffic in and around maintenance and construction areas. It provides in-depth coverage of the skills and information needed to become a qualified traffic control flag person. Students spend both scheduled days gaining practical experience with a qualified instructor. Successful participants must pass a written exam and practical evaluation. Graduates earn proof of completion training documentation, and become part of a provincial database that documents trainers and Traffic Control Persons.

Successful completion of class participation and examination result in a British Columbia Construction Safety Alliance (BCCSA) certificate valid for three years.

Textbooks and Supplies 
  • Canadian Standard's Association (CSA) approved safety footwear (steel-toe boots) is required for the practical instruction.
  • Participants are outside both days. Dress according to the weather.
