CMHW 100 Concepts for Mental Health Practices 1

This two week course is the prerequisite course for students entering the Community Mental Health Worker program. This course is designed as an overview of the field of psychosocial rehabilitation. It will introduce students to the theoretical concepts related to mental disorders, recovery and psycho-social rehabilitation and basic communication skills. The course will include lectures, class activities and a practice component that will provide opportunities to acquire and apply personal care-giving skills in an organized and safe environment.
