CMHW 101 Concepts for Mental Health Practices 2

This course is designed as an introduction to the field of psychosocial rehabilitation. The history of mental health will be discussed as will the current Mental Health Act. The course will also introduce students to a wide range of mental health issues and psychological disorders as outlined in the DSM-IV-TR. Other issues related to mental health such as the different types of abuse, psychotropic medication, mental status exams will also be discussed.
