TOUR 113 Work Experience Practicum

The practicum component of the Sustainable Tourism Certificate program plays an integral role in enhancing the success of participants of the program.  Through participation in a 2 week practicum placement with a host tourism operation, participants are provided with the opportunity to demonstrate the skills and knowledge base gained throughout the training period.  As part of the mentor role, the employer will be charged with the responsibility of creating and monitoring a meaningful training plan for the participant as well as provide a supportive working environment where constructive performance evaluation is conducted.
