Northwest Community College (NWCC), all campuses, invites applications for auxiliary Instructors for Red Cross® Safety Courses on an on-call basis (weekdays, evenings and weekends). The on-call period will commence September 1, 2017 and end August 31, 2018. Salary will be in accordance with the BCGEU Instructor Scale.
Duties: Teaching, course preparation, evaluation of student work, along with other functions related to instructing Red Cross® courses (i.e. Emergency ChildCare First Aid, CPR Level with AED, Workplace Emergency First Aid, Standard First Aid & CPR, Remote and Wilderness First Aid, Marine Basic First Aid, Marine Advanced First Aid, etc.). Please indicate your preferred course(s) campus in your cover letter.
Valid Red Cross® recognized instructor certification. Preferred certificates and experience include a Provincial Instructional Diploma (PID) and experience training on an individual and group basis.
Required skills, abilities and knowledge includes:
- Strong technical knowledge and relevant industry experience
- Excellent group facilitation, communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to foster a motivational learning environment for a diverse student base
- Customer/Client service oriented
- Adaptable with the ability to work effectively within a variety of diverse situations
