Financial Aid - NWCC

The purpose of the Vancouver Foundation Bursary Program is to assist full-time students who have identified vocational or academic objectives and have demonstrated the ability to reach those objectives. This bursary is directed at female students who have demonstrated financial need. The amount of this bursary varies from year to year.

A $100 award will be presented to a graduate of the ASE- WST or RSP program who has successfully completed the practicum component of the program. This student must have either found or be actively seeking paid employment, volunteer work experience or be planning to further their education by entering a different program at NWCC or another academic institution.

A $500 award for a University Credit student who has a balanced lifestyle and is knowledgeable and committed to the protection of the environment and the efficient and safe use of electricity. Preference will be given to a female or Aboriginal student.

This bursary is a open to all students with financial need who are enrolled full time and who are in good academic standing. The amount of this award varies each year.

Through donations to the NWCC Endowment Fund, co-workers established this $500 award when Brian retired from NWCC after 28 years as the Registrar. During these years Brian demonstrated a committement to students and was instrumental in establishing the Endowment Fund and Bursary program. This award is to recognize success in the first semester of year by a full time, fee paying student who is having difficulty funding their education.

BV Electric Powering Your Future Award is available to NWCC students enrolled in the Electrical Foundations program; however, ACEIT or mature students may apply. The $9000.00 donated will be distributed over a period of 8 years. In 2016 $2,500.00 will be awarded to 2 students, in 2017 to 2022 2 awards will be given in the amount of $500.00 and the last year 2023 1 award in the amount of $500.00 will be awarded.

Four awards of $500 each are available to mature students enrolled in NWCC's Harmonized Carpentry Foundations program. Awards are pesented to eligible candidates at stable enrolment.

This $500 award is offered to a student enrolled in Professional Cook Level 2. In late May, the Professional Cook Program instructors slelect a recipient. The award is released to the recipient at the beginning of Professional Cook Level 3.
