An annual award of $200 is made available to mark Lucille Sutherland's many and enduring contributions to the Credit Union Foundation. This bursary is available to students in vocational or technial programs.

This $500 scholarship is made available through donations from family and friends in the memory of Don Anderson, President of Northwest Community College from 1989 to 1994. Selection will be based on the highest Grade Point Average attained in the first semester of those students who apply or are nominated for notable dedication to the College or their program.

The purpose of the Vancouver Foundation Bursary Program is to assist full-time students who have identified vocational or academic objectives and demonstrated the ability to reach those objectives. This award is available to any student with finanical need who is in good academic standing and who is enrolled full time. The amount of this bursary varies each year.

Dr Ed Harrison served as a member of the NWCC Board of Directors. This bursary in his name was created to encourage students to carry onto their second year of studies. The recipient of this award has shown promise while successfully completing their first year of studies. The second year enrolments are confirmed prior to this award being paid out.

Register for your program by June 30 and automatically be entered into a draw to win a $500 credit. This credit may be used for tuition, fees, and books or items in the Bookstore.

Two winners from each of these campuses - Terrace, Prince Rupert, and Smithers will be drawn and one winner will be drawn from Hazelton and Haida Gwaii campuses.

This scholarship was established in 1992 in memory or Eric Buss' professional contribution to forest recreation in the Prince Rupert forest region and his association as a guest lecturer at Northwest Community College. The recipient of this $200 award will have demonstrated good interpersonal skill and general academic excellence in a natural resources or related program. Selection will be by student nomination followed by faculty consensus.

Frank ran his family farm in Cedarvale, BC, Canada. Frank is a Northwest Community College Alumni student where got his Heavy Duty Mechanic Apprenticeship . Frank loved Harley Davidson Motorcycles and had many of them over the years. Frank was a gifted mechanic who donated countless hours and money to the Charities that he supported.  Loved by many, his legacy lives on in the Canadian Motorcycle Drag Racing Association's; Frank Thompson Memorila Award for Most Devoted Volunteer of the Year". Frank J. Thompson Memorial Bursary will be presented to a deserving Heavy Duty Mechanic Student.

Northwest Community College is pleased to offer Art Bursaries of up to $5000 to qualified Aboriginal applicants registering in the Freda Diesing School of First Nations Fine Arts. Bursaries will be awarded to first year applicants registering full-time in the certificate program; or to qualified Aboriginal applicants registering full-time in the diploma program. This bursary is awarded to individuals who wish to develop their artistic potential in traditional Northwest Coast Aboriginal art.

This award is made possible by the generous contributions of Bruce Byfield, journalist and writer and his wife Patricia L. Williams. Ms.William passed in the summer of 2010, and the award is being given in her memory. This award is given annually to a mature student (25 and over) from the Freda Diesing School of Northwest Coast Art who has demonstrated leadership and mentoring qualities in the classroom. Faculty from the School of Northwest Coast Art will select a student after confirmation of enrolment in the second semester of the certificate or diploma program.

Two annual awards of $1,000 each are available for women who are taking steps to re-enter the work force by enrolling full-time in a program of study at the Terrace campus. Preference will be given to women who have minimal sponsorship from other sources, have been out of the workforce, and who are single parents with dependant children.
