Kitimat and Kitamaat Village Represented at Awards Ceremony

Kitimat and Kitamaat Village Represented at Awards Ceremony The achievements of five Northwest Community College students from Kitimat and Kitamaat Village were showcased during the College's Scholarship Awards Ceremonies. The 2006 Lieutenant Governor's Silver Medal was awarded to Anthony Adam of Kitimat. Adam is currently enrolled in the College's Business Administration diploma program. Students chosen for this award must have a high academic standing and have been active members in their program and/or college community. "I am very pleased with Anthony's exemplary academic performance," states Gregory Krabes, Coordinator of the Business Administration program at NWCC. "He is an excellent student and a great example for others." Rosaline Tambour and Sandra Robinson of Kitamaat Village, also students of the Business Administration program, received $250 each from their Northern Institute for Resources Studies awards. Rounding out the achievements for their home towns were Culinary Arts student Kristina Woods of Kitamaat Village, receiving a $2,000 NWCC Entrance Scholarship, and Welding student Brent Larson of Kitimat, receiving a $500 NWCC Trades Instructor Award. "These awards were granted as a result of the efforts and achievements of these students. We congratulate them on their accomplishments and are proud to welcome them to the college community," states NWCC President Stephanie Forsyth.
