Borrowing and Renewals

Is there a limit on the number of items I may borrow?
No.

How long may I borrow things from the library?

  • Books are loaned for 4 weeks.
  • Videos are loaned for 1 week.
  • Special arrangements may be made to borrow items that normally aren't loaned such as books from the Reference Collection.

Can I renew loans?
Yes. But there's a limit of 3 renewals per item.

How do I renew loans?
Renewals may be requested in person, by phone, by e-mail, or online in the library's catalogue.

How do I get a PIN for online renewals?
Please contact the library.

Does the library charge overdue fines?
No.

What happens if I damage or lose something I've borrowed?
You'll be charged for the replacement cost of the item plus a $7.50 service fee. The College will not provide mark transcripts or permit you to register in courses until such bills are paid.

Can the library get things from other libraries for me?
Yes. These are called interlibrary loans. They are free. You may request as many as you need. Expect to wait 7 to 10 days for an item to arrive from another library. The loan period is set by the lending library. Loan renewals depend on the lending library's policy. Article copies are yours to keep.
