Ministry of Advanced Education funds Child and Infant Mental Health certificate program at NWCC

Terrace, BC—Northwest Community College (NWCC) received a one-time funding contribution of $92,000 to support a Child and Infant Mental Health Certificate program.

“Our government is building capacity in Northern B.C. to provide support for families of children with mental health concerns,” said Advanced Education Minister Andrew Wilkinson. “The funding of this program at Northwest Community College is an important aspect of developing thriving, healthy communities.”

The money is intended to support the delivery of a four-month certificate program in Child and Infant Mental Health. Space will be available for 12 full-time students starting in January 2017 at the NWCC Terrace campus.

“This program will create important learning opportunities that will, in the long-term, support the health and prosperity of our region,” said Ken Burt, President and CEO of Northwest Community College.

Individuals thinking about registering for the certificate program should contact the NWCC Registrar’s Office at 1.877.277.2288 for details.
