Criminal Justice Field School

Overview

New 2018 Field School

Have you ever considered if our criminal justice system is fair and effective? Examine how the police, courts and prison system respond to criminal behaviour.

In this field school you will work alongside members of the RCMP as they investigate a crime scene. Experience what it is like working in the criminal justice system of Canada.

Get a close-up look at the court process as you participate in a mock trial with actual members of the criminal justice system. Explore the differences between traditional sentences and restorative justice.

Throughout this three-week field study issues of contemporary interest will be explored including: wrongful convictions, mental health, murdered/missing Aboriginal women and girls, racial profiling and police deviance.
